Josh Smith is a painter of the New York School and I collected his works extensively. I met him in New York and discussed the possibility of a project. The idea was to use empty store windows along Oxford Street to exhibit Josh’s paintings. He was interested in the idea but it became too complicated to plan a year or so ahead, anticipating which stores would remain empty. The project did not take place.—John Kaldor
